My Assessment:
- Color: Light to Medium Amber
- Aroma: Vanilla, Honey, and Caramel Candy
- Taste: Very smooth and silky mouthfeel, a bit of spice from the rye, but that caramel candy flavor comes shining through.
- Finish: The charred oak flavor is very balanced and lingers nicely. Nice long lingering finish.
About the bottle:
Heaven Hill Distillery re-designed this beautiful bottle in 2019 and added a 7 year age statement. This delicious Bottled-in-Bond has gained a whole lot of attention which is driving the cost per bottle up. For the bourbon lover’s here in the great state of Florida, it has essentially become an allocate bottle and retailers have been able to increase the price. You should expect to pay the suggested MSRP price of $41.49 at stores like Total Wine & ABC Liquors. Here is a bit of advice. In my opinion, when you are out hunting bourbon and stop in at your smaller mom and pop type stores, I would suggest you do not pay more than $70 for this bottle. This is indeed a delicious bourbon, but you do not need to get price gouged to obtain it. Happy hunting!!
