About the Distillery:
Woodinville Whiskey Co is located in Woodinville, Washington. Its a cool story of two best friends starting out and following their dream of distilling great whiskey. Being mentored by David Pickerell….. well that basically speaks for itself.
Tasting Notes [From the Distillery]:
Aromas of crème brûlée and spice cabinet, as well as notes of rich caramel, dark chocolate, and vanilla bean on the palate with a sweet, lingering finish.
About the bottle:
This specific Woodinville bourbon is a private barrel selected by Bern’s Steak House and can be purchased at Bern’s Fine Wines & Spirits. I am fortunate to have many wonderful restaurants and bars near me in Tampa. One of my favorite steak houses is Bern’s Steak House. They have a great selection of bourbon and specialize in selecting private barrels of bourbon. So when I sampled this private barrel from Woodinville, I naturally grabbed a bottle. I am very happy I did because I’m hooked!
Review:
This powerhouse straight bourbon whiskey clocks in at 122.48 proof. Although high in proof it is very smooth, balanced, and full of flavor. I found that it really opened up as it sat in the glass for about 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend that step to bring out the flavors. I tasted the spiced cabinet oaky notes, creme brulee and also picked up sweet chocolate and light leather notes. This is a great pour from start to finish and highly recommend it.
I look forward to trying other releases from this distillery in the near future.
Continue the great work Woodinville!
